Helping HU Students Study Abroad

A Gilman Scholarship Follow-on Service Project

welcome to the year of japan

Taking inspiration from the Ralph J. Bunche International Affairs Center's yearly themes (Year of India, Year of Ghana), this year was my Year of Japan. I was named a finalist for the 2023 Critical Language Scholarship Program and granted the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to study Japanese at Okayama University during the summer. Upon being awarded a Gilman Scholarship to study at Osaka Gakuin University during the fall, I created this follow on service project to create a living resource for Howard students wanting to studying abroad, learn (critical) languages, and plan their academic success because knowledge is meant to be shared. This resource is available for all students but is geared towards the Howard University process. If I only help one student achieve their goals, then I will have achieved mine.

Sincerely,
Angel Bryant
